SARA & HEA
Hey Sara! Congratulations on winning season 1 of Happily Ever After! How do you feel about winning?
I was so genuinely excited and shocked to be named the HEA season 1 winner! Honestly, I wasn't expecting my name to be announced and I was so surprised. What a honor! Especially amongst so many spectacular finalists!

In Let's Duet Together (#HEAs1EE) you sang with a DisneyEnchants member! Outside of Smule, do you have a dream duet partner?
Absolutely, I’m a huge fan Coldplay so ideally I’d love to sing with Chris Martin someday 😍 He’s not only an amazing musician but a great philanthropist and person!

Style Switch (#HEAs1r1) allowed you to spin a Disney song in your favorite style! You selected jazz and we loved your rendition! How did you originally get into Jazz?
Ooo, yes! So my grandmother was actually a backup singer from the 40s into the 60s, and she played a lot of jazz for me. Especially Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. I just fell in love with the relaxed and warm style of jazz and big band music! I have a naturally lower voice, and most jazz is really comfortable for me in that range so it’s not stressful to sing either. 😊

We learned a lot about you in True to Your Groove (#HEAs1b1)! To sum up, what are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Hmmm! I’d say passionate, hard working, and silly! 😂

You created such an eerie piece in Villainous Voices (#HEAs1r2)! How do you get into character when performing?
Hehe, I love doing creepy characters! It’s so different from who I am, it’s fun to just imagine yourself as a Disney villain. My favorite thing to do while singing as a villain is to add a big, evil laugh (or three!). That always gets me into character! 😂

Neverland Lullaby (#HEAs1b2) was one of the staff's favorite round suggestions! Is there a round theme you would like to see in a future DisneyEnchants competition?
I loved the lullaby bonus, it was so unique! Hmmm, I would love an animal round (only songs sung by Disney animals) or a sequels round!

Contestants got to sing their favorite Disney Channel songs in Television Tunes (#HEAs1r3)! Are there any TV Shows you love and can recommend?
Yes! I like The Good Place and Better Call Saul! Both just started new season 🤩

Keys to the Kingdom (#HEAs1b3) was all about singing a song from one of the Disney Parks! Have you been to any of the parks? What was your favorite experience?
Yes! It’s so wonderful 😍 and yes!! I’ve been to Walt Disney World 3 times, each time with a band or vocal group during their Magic Music Days promotion! I’ve marched down Main Street with a clarinet, I’ve performed in front of the castle, and I’ve sung at Downtown Disney!! The last time I went, my now step dad proposed to my mom in front of the castle, and it was just so magical. Going to WDW is some of my favorite memories.

We had fun traveling through time in Time Treble (#HEAs1r4)! If you could live in the era of any Disney film, where would you live?
Ooo yes! I’d say...I do love the era and location of Peter Pan! Early 1900s London

You rocked it as Simba and Zazu in Musical Magic (#HEAs1r5)! Do you have a "dream role" you wish you could play on stage or on screen?
Thank you!! I’d love to play Mary Poppins someday 😍 She’s so classy and smart and even a bit sassy. I adore her!

In Enchanting Ensemble (#HEAs1r6) you gave an incredible performance of a 10 minute song! The patience and skill behind it is evident! Do you have Smule tips you can share with us?
Ahh, yes! Luckily I love that song, but yes, a 10 minutes is quite a long song, haha. I try to think a bit ahead of time on the order of layers. I usually to do the lead vocal first, then any harmonies, sound effects, background vocals after. And I use the effects and volume drastically! Don’t be afraid to turn background vocals to -12 or give it high reverb and echo. It can add a really cool sense of ambient noise and bring depth! 😊

We absolutely loved your Final Fantasia (#HEAs1r7)! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your finale?
Of course!!
So firstly, I wanted to build a big idea around the song Happily Ever After. It’s an amazing song and truly what I felt the competition was trying to convey. 😍
I loved the idea of bringing back characters and songs I had done throughout the comp and letting them all come together in the end for a big magical moment! 💫
I also wanted to challenge myself by using a non Disney track. But it needed to be upbeat and have a Disney feel. So I tested a few tracks and decided to go with "Conqueror" by Aurora. She is a fantastic musician with an angelic voice. And her name is also my DEn character! It couldn’t have been more perfect.
To help fill out the song, I went through and listed all my top favorite Disney songs. Then I adjusted them and added wherever I could get them to work! I wanted to add as many songs as I possibly could to show my love for lots of Disney songs!

Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey! Now as we Let the Credits Roll (#HEAs1EXIT) on season one, can you tell us what was your favorite part of HEA?
My favorite part was being and creating music alongside so many talented and kind Disney fans. The support and love is just...it’s humbling. When I’m having a rough day at work or feeling stressed, Disney (and this competition) kinda transports me away from that for a bit. And HEA was my little getaway 😊
Being very honest, I have anxiety and depression that I’ve been finding ways to alleviate. And DEn and HEA really helped me and gave me a safe space to do that ♥️
